Art Club for Teens

Bellmore Teen Art Club met on Thursday, April 19, to make dreamcatchers.

We learned a little about traditions and customs surrounding dreamcatchers, and had light refreshments before posing proudly with the completed projects!

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, May 10 at 7 pm.  All in grades 6-12 are invited to sign up at the reference desk.  There is a materials fee of $3.00.

BML Art Club: Piecing it Together with Willem de Kooning

The Long Island Children’s Museum came to BML to do a workshop on Willem de Kooning, an abstract expressionist painter. BML teens even got to create their own masterpiece! To see more pictures from this event, click HERE!

The next meeting of the art club will be on Thursday, April 19 at 7pm.

Teens had fun at the March Chocolate Factory!

12 teens came together to make green shamrock lollipops and an assortment  of homemade chocolates to share on St. Patrick’s Day.

Teen graffiti cake workshop was a big success!

On February 7,  24 Bellmore teens got together with the Baking Coach to decorate 24 cakes with every kind of frosting/graffiti imaginable.

The cakes were breathtakingly unique–everyone was happy and proud!

Happy Valentine’s Day for Veterans

Bellmore Library Teens and friends and relatives

came together to decorate valentine cards for veterans.

  The 25 cards are being taken to the VA Hospital in Northport.

Sen. Fuschillo Cyber-Bullying Webcast

On Tuesday, February 7th from 7-7:30PM, there will be a live webcast on Senator Fuschillo’s website.

Nearly half of all teens have been the victim of cyber-bullying.  Learn how to protect yourself or your child.

Graffiti Cake Workshop for Teens

Tuesday, February 7,  from 7 to 8 pm

The Baking Coach will show us how to get creative and cover a 7″ cake with buttercream frosting, then decorate using edible “spray paint” and finish with a frosting border.    Take home your customized creation to enjoy with the family, or by yourself!

There is a nonrefundable fee of $3.  Limit:  24 teens in grades 6-12.  Sign up and get your ticket at the reference desk.
